The Sulphur Crested Cockatoo is big, beautiful, at times destructive and always very noisy. A majestic bird, they fly around in flocks and I always hear them before I see them. Loud and gregarious they are not everyone’s favourite as they are famous for getting up to mischief. Adept at opening wheely bin lids, stripping wood off your deck or eating your crops they have adapted to the modern world with gusto. Love them or hate them, there is no denying one thing, they are indeed ‘clever cockies’.
